Xylotek hosted Fologram in Bristol for a two day workshop to explore opportunities for deploying Augmented Reality in timber structures. The physical outcome was a tree-like structure of interconnected timber rods, joined with smaller diameter dowels. The positioning of the drilled holes for the dowels (which defined the ultimate geometry) was achieved by through the HoloLens headset defining how in space the dowel needed to be held at the drill station. Similarly the assembly was set out three dimensionally through the AR representation in space of the target positioning. The video below explains this process.

We also had fun "walking through" our current projects at full scale in Xylotek's main workshop space.

Huge thanks to Fologram for their generosity.
