DigitalFUTURES online talk: Xylotek director Martin Self will be speaking this Saturday 31 October, 2pm GMT, about Xylotek’s projects and research carried out with students of the Architectural Association at @hookepark. He will present an approach to timber construction driven by the material agency of wood, utilising the inherent and variant characteristics of wood as a natural material. Martin will seek to show how the marriage of emerging digital technologies and a deep understanding of wood can engender alternative approaches to its application in architecture.
He will be speaking alongside Fabian Scheurer of Design-to-Production & ETH Zurich, and in conversation with Philip F. Yuan as part of the @DigitalFUTURES.world lecture series hosted by Tongi University.
